Carmen is recording her full studio album this year! It will be a combination of original chamber music and folk songs written over the last decade.
And a house concert to kick the project off! Sunday April 3, 2016. 7:30pm.
This is an intimate solo concert (first of several) featuring all original folk songs, sung along with a 100-year-old piano, on creaky wooden floors, in a cosy mid-town Yellowknife shack. Love, heartbreak, hormones, home, north, ice, death, God, friendship, history, pyrite, family, caribou – this concert has it all. There might even be a cover of another amazing Northern artist…
The concert is to raise funds for the album and, most importantly, to let the folk songs stretch their legs. Most of these songs haven’t seen an audience before – come to the concert and be the first to hear them live!
Limit of 20 tickets available. To purchase ticket, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the desired number of tickets, and more details will be provided to confirm your tickets. Allergy alert! Dog hair will likely be present in the house. Dog will not.
If you can’t make it to this one, watch for more house concerts to come! And if you’re interested in supporting the album in other ways, watch out for an online crowdfunding campaign (to be launched on April 3)
